Hello community,
We’ve just updated The Long Dark to v1.48 [47675] — STEADFAST RANGER.
For a detailed breakdown of the new features and changes, please review this update video. Full Release Notes are available below.
The Long Dark version 1.79 is now rolling out for PS4, PC and Xbox One players. According to the official The Long Dark update 1.79 patch notes, the latest update brings new WINTER’S EMBRACE Content and Event. Apart from this, The Long Dark patch 1.79 also added gameplay changes and bug fixes. The episodic story-mode for The Long Dark, WINTERMUTE, currently includes three of the five episodes that form its Season One. The Episodes build on The Long Dark's award-winning survival sandbox gameplay with a thoughtful narrative experience that explores the history, and current mysteries, of Great Bear Island, as survivors there come to terms with the Quiet Apocalypse. Unlike the sandbox gameplay, Wintermute has a map! And it is a pretty good map too. I didn’t even think to look for it in the menu because why would The Long Dark have a map? It never had one before. Well it does, and if you don’t check it, you’re a fool. The map will indicate where all the quests are, and be generally aesthetically pleasing.
New! Revolver — A close-quarters defensive tool against hostile wildlife.

CHANGELIST v1.48 [47675]
Known Crash
• We are working with Unity to resolve a known, rare crash in the engine. This crash appears to only affect Windows and Mac players, although it may appear on other platforms. In the mean time, we recommend you Save Often (in WINTERMUTE) or Rest Often (in Survival; Resting triggers a save). For more information, please refer to our Support Portal.
